Fourth of July Weekend!

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!IMG_7241

Hot, beautiful, and and a four day weekend – yay!  We’re working in the heat but also taking time to play at the Lake and go to the opening of the contemporary drawings in Kingston where I have a drawing on Sat eve.  Looking forward to bringing God to the art world of Kingston, in abstract form!  Good place to try it out, I say!

Fourth of July is a big deal in our home – my son was born on the Fourth of July, my grandfather on the 2 and my father and my son’s other grandfather on the 3rd of July. sunflower Michael and I are both on a “read the Bible through in a year” program and have just finished the Book of Numbers.  It is so clear to us that we personally are on the verge of entering into God’s Promises for us as we step out into our fields of art and photography to be all that God has created us to be.  As we read the story of Moses and the Israelites, there are so many lessons for us, to make sure we DO receive the Promises Go has for us.  I am now inspired to create an icon of Joshua and Caleb!  Such a good example for us to keep our minds fixed on the prize, not the problems!!!!  I know you know what I mean!

Michael has a book proposal out that we are praying w ill come through, and some new clients this spring. Yay! His website: www.mickhales.com is receiving lots of international attention, too, praise God.

We both feel that we owe a great deal of our every and enthusiasm for achieving our unique destiny to our attending and then running a Global Awakening School.  Words cannot express the many revelations we have received from the teachings and relationships we have formed are priceless.  It is so worth all that we have paid to  have that experience.  We were stuck, before going to that school. We couldn’t figure out what to do to get unstuck.  But the teachings and the school’s directors gradually gave us the insight and deeper connection with God that we needed to be able to see our lives and professions more clearly – through God’s eyes, not our own.HHI

Michael Has created a beautiful video describing what our school does: Kingdom School PR.
The address is  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuy2Zw-yXpM

SO, our news for now is that we are spreading news of the School for a fall start in September.  Michael is in the middle of plans to hold another Philmont Revival here in August but more when those plans are finalized.  I’m going to put our flyer that Michael designed here in the hopes you will share it with those you think would be blessed by our school.  Sending you all lots of love and prayers, and we look forward to  hearing from you soon,

Easter 2013

Hello Friends and Family:

photoIt’s Easter tomorrow, having come so early this year as to be in advance of most signs of spring.  It seems odd, walking and praying in the countryside the day before Easter and it’s still winter!  But Sunday’s comin’!  photo

“Father, it’s time.

Display the bright splendor of Your Son

So the Son may in turn show your bright splendor.” John 17:1  Message

I know for us this last many months have been long days and nights of hard work, prayer, and hope that we can make an impact in our spheres of influence that will show Christ’s love in a meaningful way.  Sometimes that looks like teaching, sometimes forgiving, a lot of loving people and calling them higher, traveling from place to place and reaching out to share what we have been given.

Starting a contemporary ministry school in Albany, NY where 97% of the population is unchurched has been both rewarding and challenging.  We both are in awe of our students and their dedication and commitment to growing in their relationship to God.  We love watching them transform into more of what God created them to be, and we ourselves are experiencing similar transformation.  And it’s not done yet!  We have a major conference in Lancaster Pa- the Voice of the Prophets Conference in April which the entire school is going to.  We are all fasting and praying for major breakthroughs for that conference.

We were very blessed to have Global Awakening’s School Director, Michael Hutchings, come for a two day visit during which he hit home runs everywhere he went!  At school he gave prophetic words and encouragement to the students, as well as inspired teaching on the Kingdom.  The next day he preached at Gospel Community Church in Coxsackie, NY and we were all blessed by not only his anointed preaching, but also by the youth of that church sharing their testimonies of having gone out by themselves to pray for people at the mall.  We are praying for more experiences like we had with the youth at Coxsackie.  Michael and I are organizing several Outreach days for our students to preach and teach in area churches throughout the spring and summer.  We are considering having a second year starting in the fall as well as another first year of training.  So, please keep all this in your prayers.  We feel very much in keeping with the season – lots of hope and promise but the ground is still very cold!

We bought this rooster painting today from Hudson street artist “Earl”.  Seemed appropriate for the season!   photo

I have two pieces in a digital art exhibition called “Holy Men, Holy Women”, and will be taking part in a panel discussion with other exhibitors from the Windows on Heaven exhibition in Metuchen, NJ where ten of my icons are currently on display.

Michael has two new articles recently published in NYC & G and in Flower magazine. He also gave a talk in Southampton at the Madoo Conservatory called ‘Catch the Eye’, about how our eye works in a garden, for our friend Robert Dash painter and gardener.

We are very excited about what the summer brings and look forward to a busy year preparing for the next year with Kingdom GSSM Satellite School.photo

Please keep us in your prayers, as you are in ours.

Love & Prayers,

Michael and Christine

January Thaw

Dear Family and Friends:   photo

Who wouldn’t want to see a field of golden pollen at the end of January? I suppose that’s what MOMA and artist Wolfgang Laib were thinking when they arranged “Pollen from Hazelnut” a current exhibition in NYC.

For Michael and I, this month has been bright with hope, also for seeing more of God’s Kingdom blossoming in our area.  Rob Stoppard, the Inner Healing instructor at GSSM came to stay with us and teach at Kingdom School from Thursday through Sunday, Jan17-20.  IMG_2826 He taught at the school and also at a dinner in our home which was open to people from our geographical area, It was very well attended (some of the younger ones gracefully chose to sit on the floor!) and people were blessed by Rob’s teaching. It was heartening to see so many people come to receive healing and inspiration and we hope to host similar events in the future.  IMG_2822

We have some exciting news, too.  We’ve received our 501 c3 approval for Kingdom Arts Ministry!  Hooray!  Quite a long process, but now we can receive tax deductible donations directly to Kingdom Arts and be more able to support our local community in many different ways.  Praise God!  We are praying for God’s direction and strategy for this next year in terms of planning for Kingdom School, outreach in our community and how we can further God’s Kingdom here in the Hudson Valley.  We will be needing more space to hold events, and along with that, will need audio visual equipment and speakers, so that we can continue offering to bring speakers, films, and art events to our area and Albany.  Please keep us in your prayers as we move on now, to expand to the next level God has for us.  Here is a photo of a Prophetic Painting that Christine did at our last class.  God has been moving so powerfully, and showing her as well as others the “Lion of Judah”, and His power is moving amongst us, He is fully in the Universe and also intimately present within us.  Our strength and our salvation:    1Np28

One last thing. another blessing- we were able to purchase a pellet stove to help cut down heating costs and it is now installed and working great! Finally, warmth! And it was just in time for this really cold weather. Praise God, I don’t have to paint with gloves on!  :).

Sending you all lots of love and hoping you will be in touch with us and share how God is touching your lives, and any prayer requests you may have too.

Love,

Christine and Michael

Behold the New Year!

Happy New Year!IMG_2504

Waking up to a warm house in the middle of a snow storm, healthy, happy, and with an inkling of God’s mission for myself, I thought “what do You want me to do this year, Lord?”  The word I think I heard was “hospitality”.  Yikes!! That was always something I knew I couldn’t do because of my fears and insecurities.  But, honestly, when I heard that, I was and am, filled with an inner excitement.  I am so looking forward to hosting more house church get togethers this year, more Satellite School events, and also volunteering at the homeless shelter on a regular basis this year.  I am excited!!!  I know that’s got to be God!IMG_2524

And, I feel equipped and able.  Michael and I were thanking God yesterday for all the inner healing we have received as GSSM students, and even now as we continue to run the GSSM Satellite School.  All that we are doing now for the Kingdom would not have been possible without the help, teachings, and inspiration we received from Randy Clark’s ministry and the covering we IMG_2528are under as a result.

Our first opportunity for increased hospitality comes with a visit to our GSSM Satellite school by Rob Stoppard.  We are so blessed to be able to host this amazing, quiet, gentle man of God who brings God’s grace and kindness to his inner healing ministry. IMG_2546 Both Michael and I have been privileged to have received inner healing from him on an ongoing basis while at school, and he taught Michael’s second year healing track.  The other GSSM Satellite School, New Beginnings in NJ, after having Rob come to minister to some of their students, have been so blessed they have put him on staff to minister on an ongoing basis!  His ministry of helping people reach their full potential in Christ is so beneficial to those of us in marketplace ministries, as well as clergy, teachers, and administrators.IMG_2555

Michael and I recognize that some of the blessings and mission we have here in this area is to bring in good Holy people to minister and equip the Christians from all different denominations in our area.  The area of inner healing is particularly needed here as people struggle to get free from poverty, addiction,  wounds caused by churches, and family issues.

So, here is Rob’s schedule for his visit to GSSM Satellite Kingdom School in Albany.  We welcome guests to come experience a day at school, or you are welcome to sign up for an inner healing prayer slot, or come to the Friday night Revival Prayer session at our home on Jan. 18.  Christians from all denominations are welcome, and youth groups, too!  Just shoot us an email or call to let us know you are coming:  mhales@halesart.com   or  518-672-0014IMG_2559

  • Thursday, January 17, Rob teaches at GSSM Satellite School, Albany, NY 6:00-9:30PM
  • Friday, January 18, A few inner healing prayer slots are still available: at the Hales home in Philmont 10:00am-5PM
  • Friday Evening 6:00 Pot luck dinner   7:00PM  Revival Worship and teaching with Rob Stoppard at the Hales home in Philmont, NY
  • Saturday, January 19th, 9Am-6PM GSSM Satellite School with Rob Stoppard at St. Michael’s Church, Albany, NY
  • Sunday:  Rob will be speaking at Pastor Don and Nancy Child’s Church, West Hoosick Baptist Church.IMG_2572

Please keep us in your  prayers as we go forward this year, doing what we can to bring God’s Kingdom here to the Hudson Valley.

This is getting too long, but ….One more thing before we go- the Lord is blessing me with having ten of my large icons in an exhibition in Metuchen, NJ for five months.  The gallery is in an Episcopal Church and there will be five other iconographers included, too.  As the Lord has shown me to approach each exhibition as an outreach for His Kingdom, I am excited about all that He will do through my co laboring with Him!  You are all welcome to come, here’s the info:

Christmas! More of Christ in our lives!

Hello Dear Friends and Family:

Thank you all for sharing in the excitement and blessings of our Journey with God, particularly this Christmas.  We are so thankful for your support and prayers!  We also recognize the need to ask for more prayer support as we continue to bring light into the spiritual darkness of the Albany region.  We would like you to email us if you would be able to increase your prayer support as intercessors for us in this next year.  We would then keep you informed as prayer concerns arise and ask you to increase the prayer shield of protection over our ministry.  We need a team of solid intercessors as we move forward and hope you will prayerfully consider this.

Our Kingdom School GSSM Satellite school recently celebrated our own family Thanksgiving at our home with lots of fun playing Biblical charades, feasting on turkey dinner, and sharing our gratitude for all God has done for us this year. We recognize that most of our resources have gone to establishing the Kingdom School since September, with little left over for our

church planting in the Philmont area. Michael had received the Word from God over a year ago to “build an ark in Philmont”, so we are continuing to pray into that.  With that in mind, Michael is organizing a Christmas Carol community Carol singalong to sing carols at the Pinehaven nursing home and along Main street with local residents.  We will all meet

back at our home for Hot Chocolate and aprayer for our area to be blessed especially this year.  Michael continues to hold his bible study in the Philmont library on Sunday evenings and we are praying that God will give us a building in this area for the art/video/satellite school for next year.

We have lots of room in our home for entertaining and hospitality and will be hosting the director of the GSSM School here while he visits our school and area churches sometime in the New Year. How exciting! We are so blessed by the support from our Global Awakening family, especially Bob and Marge Morrison who hosted us and a special lunch for our students during the recent Healing School in Mechanicsburg PA.  We need our friends so  much and hope we are a blessing to them too!

Please know that you all are very much in our prayers as we approach Christmas this year.  May you be blessed with joy, good health, and abundance of God’s very Presence in your lives!

Much love,

Christine and Michael                       IMG_2445

The Storm

Hello Friends and Family:

By now you have all heard the reports of the “great storm” passing through the eastern seaboard.  We experienced high winds and rain, with very heavy cloud cover, but, praise God, no damage.  Thanks to you all who have been praying for us.  Last night as we went to bed, we realized that there is absolutely nothing we could do but pray.

And we have been doing a lot of that!  This past month we went with fifteen students from our Kingdom School to a four day conference in Lancaster Pa.  It was Voice of the Apostles with Randy Clark, Bill Johnson, Georgian Banov, and Che Ahn, plus Heidi and Rolland Baker. It was an amazing conference – we learned a lot and experienced a lot of what God does when His Holy Spirit is allowed freedom to do what He wants to do!

The Kingdom School, a satellite school of Global School of Supernatural Ministry, is going well.  Each week there are new teachings and some of our students have taken over leading worship, and it is very anointed. We are all blessed.  This school is something we had wanted to do for a long time.  It is the vehicle which allows us to share with others in our area who are hungry for more of God.

As part of our outreach component this month, the school visited with Charlie Muller of Victory Church in Albany. He spoke to the students and showed us his “Dream Space” in Albany.  It is a large warehouse building where they prepare food to feed the children in albany who don’t get food unless they are in school. He has so many good programs for the poor of Albany and we are starting to partner with him in volunteering .

We also visited the Capital City Rescue Mission which provides shelter and food for the homeless of Albany. That was inspiring, too, how much they do and what a difference they make in the lives of people who really need help.  We will be partnering with their ministry too.

I, Christine, have been working to finish up some of my commissions and starting others. I have two paintings in an exhibition in Woodstock and one in Hudson right now.  Several of my icons will be on display in New Jersey in the spring.  Most importantly, I am coming into a sense of what God is calling me into  in art.  More on that another time:).

I think our prayer requests at this time are for protection, and multiplication!  In starting this school we have taken a risk to do something different and so we need favor, grace and love to follow us in order to complete what God has started here.  We are very grateful for all your prayers and know that our success is your success too.  I think God is very happy when we all are happy.  And making others happy is a great gift.  So, thank you for your help with our ministry – we couldn’t do it without you!

I have also been working on some new websites like: www.newchristianicons.com, and www.iconwriting classes.com.  I’ve started a new look for our www.halesart.com website, too.  All this is to prepare you for the fact that Kingdom arts Ministry is going to have a new look coming soon, too!  This reorganization will simplify our web presence and also increase our web traffic.  It takes a lot of time, but will provide a good infrastructure for our ministry for the future.

And speaking of the future!  I’ve just completed a year long process to file for our non profit status.  The final papers have been sent in, so more prayers are in order!  We are very excited about that and will let you know when it is complete.

So, you see, we came back from England to re-group and it has been very rewarding.  We will be doing short term missions in the future, and praying about where God wants us to take the school next.

Looking forward we feel that we are again being drawn to focus on our own neighbourhood with a place that we can offer art classes, iconography classes, have

Kingdom school and a healing prayer center. God’s call to ‘build an ark in Philmont’ is still very much alive and although in the natural there does not seem to be a way forward for it in the supernatural it feels like the next step. Which means God has it already figured out! So please keep us in your prayers with it all.  Especially for a building or the use of a space that would work well.  We look forward to hearing from you ! Most of you are on our prayer list already, but feel free to email any special prayer requests. God is good!

God has blessed Mick with having some beautiful articles published in Connecticut Cottages and Gardens magazine this fall.

PS:  For my birthday, Michael took me to hear the American Symphony at the Fisher Center at Bard College. Amazing experience!

September Harvest in the Hudson Valley

Kingdom School has started!  We are so blessed and excited to have gotten off to a Spirit filled start with 19 students who are handpicked by God, it seems to me!  Each day of classes, more revelation about who God is, and who we REALLY are in Him.  I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

As part of the School, students have a daily Bible reading from a study put together by Global Awakening.  I am finding it to be foundational to really walking this path with God.  Here’s an excerpt from last week’s reading from Romans 8:27-28 (The Message translation):

“What we’ve learned is this: God does not respond to what WE do; we respond to what GOD does. We’ve finally figured it out.  Our lives get in step with God and all others by letting Him set the pace, not by proudly or anxiously trying to run the parade.”

And  “God sets right all who welcome His action and enter into it, both those who follow our religious system and those who have never heard of our religion.”  Romans 8:30.

I just am so happy with being able to experience through the Kingdom School all the advanced ministry teachings available through Global Awakening.  We are telecasting by internet the classes held on site in PA, so we have fresh material every week.

Michael is doing an amazing job as director of the school and I am looking forward to the Spring when people have been filled with all this good material and confidence building in living life with an alive Jesus operating within them.

I, Christine, have realized how much God wants me to fulfill His call on my life as an artist.  I have jumped into some community art events and am making friends with whom I will share my love of Jesus through sharing our art experiences.    God has blessed me with several commissions which I am working on; here is one of my favorites – Christ the Healer (it’s unfinished yet) .

I. Michael, am also very excited about the school and we are already hearing of some of the fruit; Episcopal services taking twice as long as usual because everyone was given a word of prophecy. A high school was taught how to communicate with God from one of our students and they were crying as they gave their testimonies of what God had said to them. It is so wonderful what God is doing. It is like watching a flower unfold and we know there is so much more to come.

Now we start to do more outreach and we know that this is where the teachings we have heard become a  reality as God shows up when we go out in faith praying on the streets. This is one of the areas that I love to walk in, being natural praying for people who need healing on the streets, in supermarkets, bus stations, hairdressers, just where ever and teaching other people to become comfortable with it as well. God is so gentle and loving that as we see people with His heart we flow with what He is doing. It is so much fun when God takes over and takes things much further than you ever imagined.

One of the wonderful parts of the school is our growing as a family as we all go through experiences with the Lord. This last weekend there has been the National Day of Prayer in Wembley Stadium England and also a huge gathering of prayer in Philadelphia,USA. We know that some of our English Christian family were there actively praying and crying out to the Lord.

Our relationship with them is founded on hours of praying together and it is as though we were standing there with them. But whether we gather in stadiums, in classrooms or house churches the wonderful thing about being a Christian is we are part of a huge family. When we move from one town to another, one nation to another we have family there already, God being the father and we are the brothers and sisters. There is nothing like it and we give thanks every day that we are part of that family and it is constantly growing. Wow. God is good all the time.

So family thank you for all your prayers and please do keep them coming. God is doing  wonderful things and we know there is so much more to come in this area.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We hope you’ve been able to share God’s joy this Christmas season with loved ones.  We’ve been so happy to be with all three of our children and their loved ones.  Our baby grandaughter is growing so fast – I’m so glad I get to see her in all these cute stages.  So far she still has red gold hair and loves being with people.

It seems that God is now showing us clearly what He is asking us to do and we are excited and happy to share that with all of you who have been giving us so much support all along!  Here’s what we know so far:

  •  We will be starting to host Praise and Worship Sunday afternoons at our house in Philmont,
  • Michael will be leading two Bible studies – one in the Library in Philmont Sunday evenings, and one Monday night at St. Michael’s Church in Colonie.
  • I will continue teaching iconography in Cohoes and start building up a drawing class here in Philmont.
  • We will be looking to start a GSSM (Global Awakening) satellite school of ministry in September and encourage people to go on the mission trip to Brazil with Randy Clark in October.
  • Return to the UK in April for a short term mission

All of this is exciting and will involve quite a few of our good friends too.  God is filling us with a hope for the future, and we hope you catch it from us! Somehow, I know He is up to something really good and we are encouraged daily by the news we hear from the UK.

Moving back to our old house has come with a string of issues but we are really grateful to be here and just yesterday received the whole of the space back. Looking back as to what God has done in our lives in the last two years is quite extraordinary, moving us and everything we owned to England and then hauling it all back again. We will be dedicating more than half the house for God’s purposes which would not have been in our thoughts before we left. God has rearranged our thinking in many areas.

We really believe that 2012 is going to be a breakthrough year for revival in our region here in New York and in England. There has been a tangible shift in the heavenlies. There is an excitement that God is on the move. We believe that this shift will continue to become more apparent and active. As we continue to listen to what God is calling us to we look back and see how God has brought us into relationships with many different people and now He is calling us to reconnect with them and mobilize. God is calling us to get on His train because it is pulling out of the station.

Please keep us in your prayers and we will keep you up to date with what God is doing, but this we do know 2012 is going to be incredible, more than we can possibly imagine. For we know that nothing will be impossible with God.

Thanksgiving!

Dear Friends and Family:

As November draws to a close, we have so much to be grateful for.

Having Thanksgiving in Boston with our son, daughter-in-law and new grand daughter was delightful!  Being able to visit my mother who is recovering well from a broken hip and seeing her smiling, settling in back at our house, seeing old friends and making new friends.

But I wonder if you are experiencing the battles and seemingly unending difficulties that we are?  It’s almost becoming funny, that the moment we solve one huge problem and feel we can relax-BOOM!- another one hits.

And they all seek to distract us from the things that really ARE important.  Like prayer, worship, fellowship with God.

This is our back garden – can you see the little deer?  There’s a family of them that live back there by the cross.  In a way, our succeeding in all the recent battles secures the safety of their home.   I think that is the way of intercessory prayer, too.  People willingly taking up the battle in prayer wins
peace for many others who are unaware of what it costs.      We are praying with a couple of icons these days -like this detail of Saint Anthony, the father of monasticism.

He was a great intercessor for his time and withstood many temptations and assaults from the demons. In 2 Chronicles 5:13 when Solomon completed the House of the Lord, and brought the Ark of the covenant in, it was the duty of of the trumpeters and singers to praise the Lord saying “For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”  I think this is the task – no matter how awful the onslaught is, to sing praise that God is good, He is always good, and His steadfast love endures forever.  When the people praised God with those words, the Glory of the Lord came down and filled the temple.

We are the Temple and what could be  better than being filled with the Presence of the Lord?  This photo is from the blessing of the icons and the iconographers’ hands at Saint Nicholas’ Church where I teach, in Cohoes last month. It was a joy and honor to be there.

We are planning for  a January start for a house Church in our home in Philmont, a small discipleship group, and Michael will be doing some Bible teaching.  We plan to be praying and asking to see if God is calling us to start a Global Awakening satellite school of ministry in this area in September.

Back in Bristol, we are so encouraged by all the prayer efforts that are happening there. It seems that people are uniting across the denominations to pray together – outside and inside churches. Dec 1 there is a UK wide prayer on the streets which some of our friends in Bristol are participating in, and John Mulinde’s World Trumpet Mission is having a strong prayer presence too.  There are many more prayer events and we are really thrilled to hear about each one, and we pray together with each one.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We are also seeing a very powerful presence of the Lord in some of the prayer meetings at St. Michael’s Church in Colonie and experienced being held on the floor by His Presence. We have both started prayer walking on the streets and find it a way to hear God’s heartbeat for the village. There was recently a death in this community which has shaken the village as it happened so quickly and it has opened up opportunities for us to pray for people. It has also revealed a strong masonic presence in the village. The words keep coming to my mind as we discern what God is doing here from a prayer session in June, “Build an Ark, in Philmont. A place of my powerful presence.” So we ask for your prayers for this that we would build God’s ark here, it so desperately needs it.

I prayed for a lady in the drug store in Boston the other day for her broken wrist, she literally said before I started to pray for her, ‘I wish someone would come along and bless me and get rid of all these demons attacking me.’ God had it all planned for me to be there. We always need to remember God has so much more for us than we can possibly imagine and when it seems to be so dark we need to hold on to God with all our heart, for He is really all there is and His love endures forever.

We hope you have a Happy Christmas with the true blessings of the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ our savior, born so humbly yet full of so much power in each of our lives today.

PS  We REALLY want and need your prayers!!! It makes a huge difference!!  And we will continue to pray for you too!           Love,            Christine and Michael.
